Meet Charles Brinkman
Charles Brinkman moved to Silver Palms Assisted Living in the fall of 2023.
Charles grew up in Kinderhook ILL and went on to Gem City Business College where he met his wife, Carlyn. Charles married Carlyn one year after their first date.
Charles and his wife both worked for the IAAP, starting the same day. Charles became an accountant for IAAP in the 1950’s. Charles also dabbled in a few side careers. He spent some time doing custodian work for the Danville School District and driving for Tri Oak Foods.
Charles says he has always enjoyed outside activities, he particularly liked gardening, hunting, fishing and minor repair work. Charles still enjoys being outside and likes to walk the campus of Silver Palms daily for fresh air and a stretch of the legs.
Charles has four sons: Doug, Matt, Darcy and Ivan. Grand Children and Great Grandchildren have a combined number of 21 with number 22 coming in the near future.
Charles says he enjoys that he has so much freedom here but is favorite thing is that he doesn’t have to cook anymore because his meals are prepared on site for him.
